Scrap Attack PageMaps Contest Entry

This layout was inspiring for these pictures of my little Jaxson playing in the rain puddles. I haven't worked this hard on one page (and having to locate all my supplies) in a long time. But the hard work paid off and I love the turnout.I used brads to accent the sun.  I chalked the cloud to give it definition.  I created the raindrops out of torn little pieces of my scrap blues. I added crystal effects to the puddle to give it more of a real and 3D effect. The raindrops are also pop-dotted to add dimension.

The Color Room....fabulous...

Have you ever had time, space, supplies and NO motivation to scrapbook? Well that seems to be me lately. I spend more time on FB and the net in general than I do in my crop space. Well tonight, I decided to check some of my scrap links for some inspiration and ran across a new fave...the color room. Check out their first 13 posted challenges and pallettes. I think I have found my inspiration.....for tomorrow.

New Pagemaps Contest and this month the challenge has COLORS.

Can't wait to try it. I have seen penants everywhere in books and los online so finally have a good sketch to try it. Will have to use my annual 4th of July family pic as the focus. Will be tons of fun!

My Crop Space....

I have always wanted my very own crop space in my house. U know, one that was not the kitchen or dining room table. One that I did not have to always clean up afterwards. Well, I finally got one. I have had it for about a year now and I think it is finally the functional space I need it to be.
I have a dry erase calendar, a neat little open cabinet, my roll around carts and my crop n -style. My shelf and my self-portrait. And did I mention...my really comfy rolling chair. :-)

Depressing...

Bought an old armoire cabinet from my neighbor at her yard sale last week for $15 thinking I could use in my scrapbook room but alas it will not fit. So does anyone want it? I can email you pics. It would make for great storage of your scrapbook items but is pretty nice and hefty. Light wood colored laminate with a pull out side and glass left front door with large shelves. 2 bad will not work for me. Will give it away to a good scrapbook home. :-)

Bummer....

Well, I made the page for the pagemaps contest but was not super happy with it and did not have any appropriate pictures so I did not submit it. I also made a card for the card contest but same deal...thought it was sub-par. Will post pics soon.
Good news- Micheals had cricut cartiridges on sale for 60% off so with Christie's chip in I was able to buy 2 new cartridges, Cursive 101 and a Christmas one. I am excited since it is my turn to use the cricut and soon I will have time to do so.
Scrap plans for this week:
  • Upload all recent layouts
  • Place a CTMH order for new albums
  • Take pics of my new updated crop space for blog
  • Print out the new contests for June

Think I will get it all done? Let's hope so.

Carol's Page Maps Entry for April- Couture Cardstock

Danielle's first Easter where she chose her dress and it was a woman's dress to boot. She is growing up so quickly. This is my entry for the pagemaps.com/blog couture cardstock contest. I wanted to bring out the bright colors of Dani's dress and highlight the spring feeling.
I used the cutest bling gems and flowers to highlight the spring feel and used this ultra sweet title "Hello Beautiful" with the cute little Easter basket and felt swirl in lime green.
The journaling was special and personal to me in that I wanted to remember how much I felt this moment when I looked at her and realized she is growing up so fast. I love the cute little Easter chick and egg with the flowers. I also used felt flowers as a embellishment across the base as well as this really neat transparent with blue felt design paper. Feels very cool.

April PageMaps Contest - Christie's Entry

I had so much fun doing this layout!  I love the color pallet of blue, green, and orange!  Plus, Jaxson had on the cutest baby blue smocked Easter outfit!  I used Blue background with green and blue scalloped felt ribbon with a beautiful blue felt butterfly which I accented with glitter.  The pictures top the page off!  We had a few really hot days before Easter where we had let him run through the water hose so as soon as we got home from church on Easter Sunday he ran to get the water hose sprayer!  He was absolutely adorable!  I'm so glad I had my camera out.

I love the accents under the pics!  Having three boys - I don't get to use flowers very often!!

The Title is from a Cricut cartridge and I chalked and watercolor penciled the flower accent on the title.  I love the white brackets - really make it pop!
I used blue and green gems to create my bullet-list for "Favorite things about Spring"

New website to follow....

So I keep a log of like a zillion scrapbook blogs I follow (nothing like a good scraplifting every now and then). Well, I found a really neat new one today called THE COLOR ROOM. See their blinkie I added here. Well, they do really neat scrapbook contests using an optional sketch but the main requirement is that you meet the color palette they provide. I am in. First contest ends April 16th and the submissions so far are insanely good. Can't wait to join in the fray.

Pagemaps.com/blog contest for April...such an adorable sketch and I know just the pics to use. I will be doing this page about my darling Dani and Joe and using their Easter pics. Time to get them developed. I love this sketch but I am thinking I might blow up the middle pic to really enhance the layout. I am excited about the planning for this lo. Now, when I am going to find the time to scrapbook it and shop for papers.....Ummm....soon I hope. LOL

A "Cherry on Top" Cricut Contest--Carol's Entry

I used glitter rub ons to accent the chipboard elements and these cute silver heart brads.

These are the cutest tele-type letters and I used floss to thread through the letters for a unique look.

I handmade several small circles and accented with stickles paints in complimentary colors.

I appreciate my family memories. My sister and her boys (Nic and T) moved to Fla with her hubby to allow him to go to college. While they were away for 4 years, she got pregnant with her 3rd son, Jaxson. I missed her baby shower, his birth, and many other moments with T and Nic. It made me very sad. So when she moved home last summer, I relished every memory we make as a family.

We just love pagemaps.com and their wonderful sketches and card maps, etc. Each month on their blog they post a great contest. This month's was a sketch called "Cherry on Top" and the winner receives a brand new Cricut machine valued at $219.99 donated by A Cherry on Top (hence the contest name). What a wonderful prize!
Here is the sketch and a pic of the wonderful prize:

Here is Christie's entry for this contest. Christie wanted to show how Marriage is a thing to show great appreciation for. She used flowers, embellies and ribbons to showcase all of the colors.

Scrapbook Related Crafts....

The girls made picture frames with me. And I had pre-made these chipboard albums with the ribbons and I let them choose all the embellies. I kept one for myself of course. :-)

These are the recent scrapbook crafts I have had the pleasure to make. I made the picture frame using papers, embellies from Etsy.com and a New Moon sticker (Thank you Mod-Podge for the sheen). So cute. I plan to replace the pic with one of Dani and I prepping for the New Moon premiere last year. But this cute pic of Dani and her BFF Alex was perfect for the saved shot for the blog.

Crop night....

Well, got 4 more pages done. Not a lot for a crop night but considering I had no real time to prepare for the crop and had to pack it all! and the fact that I did a ton of cleanup in my crop room and clean out of supplies, not bad. Hope to have time to crop before this weekend--want to enter the pagemaps.com blog contest this month so I have a shot at winning the cricut machine.

crop fun....March 12

Well, my sis and her friend Amy have planned a crop night at their church in Caroline County for the night of March 12th. I plan to carpool with my BFF Theresa and we will crop from 6:30pm Friday night till midnight....6hrs of pure scrapbooking! I need to plan. I have so many new pics to develop and plan for. We did enjoy hitting scrapdoodles in FBG and ACMoore last Saturday to prepare for the crop. I am ultra excited. I hope I can hit my goal of doing 12 layouts.....!!!Keep your fingers crossed for me. :-)

Layouts for inspiration

Cute little bunny I saw on Katie Bee's blog. She handmade this little cupid. So adorable. Makes me want to do more paper piecing.

With all the snow we got this winter--any of these 3 los would work.

I especially like the texture in this LO.
